Soft weather-beaten flowers
which may once have bloomed
to greet the Spring
now show
the strain of everything
so in this winter of letting go
these glorious petals float like snow.
As they fade naturally
seasons come and seasons go
so small birds sing a lullaby
beneath the cloudy sky.

With her gentle words the poet lifts up the weather-beaten flowers and in our eyes gives them new life again.

When I saw what a testing time the flowers were experiencing during this most wintry, wet and cold Winter, I realized that whole area was surrounded by so many houses and trees burnt to the ground 18 months ago in the wildfires which ravaged this township and surrounding areas.
So it is an image of perseverance that Magnolia came to flower with all her inner beauty and white light.
It is lovely to see your comment, and to know you too will soon be warmed by the visiting Spring.
