Cheerfulness

When I see you there
in your new blue coat,
I feel that spring
may very soon float
into our valley
to warm us all,
to cheer us up
after months of cold
and venturing outside
if we’re feeling bold.

Yes I say it’s good
to have four seasons
but on reflection
and within reason.
I feel more heartened
just if it’s warm,
not many months
bringing many storms.
And so with the light
of some sunny bright
bulbs a–blooming
within my sight
I take heart and I feel cheer
to think that springtime
is very near
and all around
in my fragrant garden
spirits rise to meet the sun
and blue grape hyacinths
cheer everyone.

(Written with blue Grape Hyacinth flower.)
