The Magnolia Tree

Soft weather-beaten flowers

which may once have bloomed

to greet the Spring

now show

 the strain of everything

so in this winter of letting go

these glorious petals float like snow.

As they fade naturally

 seasons come and seasons go

so small birds sing a lullaby

beneath the cloudy sky.

Poet's Heart

We live in a world

 torn between

wanting to listen

to the sound of a flower growing

and wanting to ignore

the sound of the sky falling.

By sometimes being sensitive

enough to the first process

we acquire the energy necessary

to prevent the second.

This Precious Flowering Tree

This precious tree
 has grown since last century
with leaves
 that leave in the breeze
as golden flowers will
and always do
waft heavenly all-spice
 fragrance through
to all souls who
shine their warmth
 in every season
sharing grace to
 inspire believing.

Courage To Continue

I felt woven into a cocoon,
as the smoke-blue linen threads
were humming a familiar tune
around the lucid words I heard,
repeating every few minutes
as a clouded memory came
with each different name.

"Courage to Continue"

"Courage to Continue,
courage to continue,
courage to continue,

when we
 step forward again
releasing old pain
the silver lining shines,
so our losses all soften
as the sky above
 paints a picture of Love.

Meeting Grace

You saw the cloudy sky

I saw the pale lagoon.

You saw the moon.

Shift

the lonely sense of secret.

Meet it.

Open your eyes and smile.

A torchlight in the dark.

A blue light in my heart.

I see

 the song to belong

and you see

the harmony of me.

A Picture Of Hope

Always, and in every season

two creative hearts shine:

the poetry and artistry are here to see at Lambley.

A truly beautiful garden

is landscaped in the central plains

where flowers now bloom most gloriously

throughout the dry summers and long winters.

This photo of new Crocus,

is from Lambley Nursery Bulb Catalogue,

available online for mail orders,

or visit the gardens in Ascot, Victoria, Australia.

Every Way The Wind Blows

The winds of spring

are blowing in

gale forces.

The rain is pelting down

against the concreted ground.

And all around 'is in the air'

life seems uncertain everywhere.

I need to, understand "where I am heading for"

and then I hear in my ears

"Be silent".  "Just be still"

You will never know unless you go,

"bird by bird" and "step by step"

what might happen next.

God knows that I will wait!

I have been woken up,

while some are sleeping soundly in their beds,

because I feel a presence here

'hovering over me', and being

reassuring, at this time

as we all move, farther down the line.

In these long pandemic ways,

we are learning "day by day".
