For You

I will hold the light, she said,

I will quietly sit by the bed

and through the day into the night

all will be lit

beside you.

And together

I know we will meet

those who come indeed to greet

you.

And still you sleep

as I,

gently weep into the dawning of a new day

so Farewell Dear One, you hear me say.

Gone with the flowers

to brighten all

comes the colourful Autumnal Fall

comes the beginning

following on

we all know

you tip-toed home.

There were all these years

you held the lamp

you kept the fires glowing

you expanded knowledge

turned endless pages

and became The Elder of the ages.

Hold quietly still until your calling.

From A Bird

So why did we not see, what was obviously

visible to the birds.

The birds who flew

who sang,

who knew,

who nested safely and fed their young,

who twittered quietly when the day was done

who sang to the skies from within shrubbery

who perched in the tree-tops with a view to the sea.

If only the bird of spirituality

was heard like words of clarity

to those who miss the brighter song,

who need life’s pain

to bring the rain

to cleanse the lands

to start again.

So quietly here I go…….

Greeting and Meeting

This one is for you

as I greet the day

and bring you through

as I meet our pain

and I feel melancholy

so release again.

As I stretch myself

on the inside

and lean in to

hide my depths

as I go each day

to extraordinary lengths

to know myself

and you

and over there too

and here in the hills

where I’ll live until

I go there

or next place where

it is only time

and there is only now

as here I am

learning how

to greet my shadow

and be the Light

as I feel radiance

and then dark night

as I go out further

and dive in deeper

as I wish I was a jasmine creeper.

In Memory of my friend Kathleen who passed away today February 6, 2016

Little Bird

I found a little blackbird

I folded up her wings

Oh little bird

I never heard

the song you had to sing.

 

I sat beside Plumbago

and said how sad it was

that Mother bird was searching

for the baby bird just gone

so we sighed and said goodbye

as the feathered soul had flown.

 

Be we here for long

or briefly so

we pass in light and heaven knows

to lead us over to rest awhile

Oh little bird I see you smile.

 

 

Pass It On

May your days be bright

and your heart be light.

May Love be in your life,

May hope be in your heart

May peace be in our world.
