Hoping to Save A Potted Plant?

Ladybird Came to Help

Today I bought you home
with me,
when I saw you
at the hardware store
and all I thought
was let’s give you more –
better soil,
in a larger pot,
praise to say
‘you have lovely genes’,
and I will take care
of you
so your strength
will return it’s true?
As I put you in the sunshine
soldier beetles climbed your leaves
and I chased them of,
then to my delight
a ladybird came along
and started eating
the pests under your leaves
and that’s a sign
the healing helpers are here
and we will transform you
before New Year.

Now there are two ladybirds on your flowers
and if they stay for hours and hours
goodness will begin to be restored
and you will be,
Poppy’s tree.
